Nina Lim
CONFERENCE
Topic: Fostering curious minds through the online questioning learning tool SMILE
Date: Saturday October 22
Room: Cozumel / Holbox
ABOUT
I’m a first grade teacher who has a deep passion and love for teaching children! I believe all children around the world from different educational, cultural, and social backgrounds have the right to access high quality education that will lead them to becoming valuable members of the society in the future. In 2012, I volunteered to go to Tanzania to teach preschool students and it was disturbing to see such a lack of school resources and institutional infrastructure. Since then, my professional goal has been to design a practical, high quality educational program that can be easily implemented wherever and whenever it is needed.
During my studies, I majored in Elementary Education at Vanderbilt University and further studied child psychology at Harvard University. Then I have been working as a researcher at Stanford University studying the implementation of online questioning program called SMILE (Stanford Mobile Inquiry-based Learning Environment) in various locations including United States, South Korea, and South Africa. Through this conference I hope to work with many of you to collaborate on future researches using SMILE!
